Terms of Service
Last updated: November 2, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Authentic Intelligence Inc. ("we," "us," or "our"). They apply to your use of Minds, including our websites, the Minds apps for iPhone and Mac, the Minds messaging number, voice calls, and other features that link to these Terms (together, the "Service"). A "Mind" is the AI assistant the Service creates for each user, and "your Mind" means the one it creates for you.
Minds was formerly called My GPT, and a Mind was called a GPT. These Terms apply to the Service under either name. Where the Service or our messages still use the old names, "My GPT" means Minds and "GPT" means a Mind.
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms, including our Community Guidelines, which are part of these Terms. If you got the Minds app from the Apple App Store, our End-User License Agreement ("EULA") also applies (see Section 20). Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information. If you don't agree to these Terms, don't use the Service.
The short version
This summary is here to help, but the full Terms below are what apply.
- Your Mind acts for you. When it connects to accounts, sends messages, completes tasks, or makes purchases you approve, it does so on your behalf, and you're responsible for what it does.
- It can make mistakes. Check anything important, and keep an eye on what your Mind does, especially with automatic features on.
- Connect only your own accounts. Follow the rules of the services you connect. They may limit or suspend your account with them, and that's between you and them.
- Treat people well. Follow our Community Guidelines. We have zero tolerance for abuse, harassment, and anything that endangers minors.
- Your content stays yours. You let us use it to run and improve Minds, as our Privacy Policy describes.
- Disputes go to individual arbitration, unless you opt out within 30 days.
1. Who can use Minds
- You must be at least 13 years old.
- If you're under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, you need permission from a parent or legal guardian, and they must agree to these Terms for you. Parents and guardians are responsible for their teen's use of Minds.
- You can't use Minds if the law prohibits you from using it, if you're a convicted sex offender, or if we've previously banned you.
- You may use Minds only for your own personal, non-commercial purposes.
2. Your account
You need a mobile phone number to create an account. We text you a code to verify it and to sign you in. Give us accurate information, including your birthday, and keep it up to date.
You're responsible for everything that happens on your account and for keeping your devices and sign-in codes secure. Don't share your account, let anyone else use it, or create more than one account without our permission. If you think someone has used your account without permission, tell us right away at support@authenticintelligence.ai.
If you change or give up your phone number, let us know, so messages meant for you don't go to someone else.
3. Connected accounts
Minds can work with accounts you connect, such as Snapchat, Instagram, WhatsApp, TikTok, iMessage (through the Minds app for Mac), Google, and websites you sign in to through Minds ("Connected Accounts").
When you connect an account, you authorize your Mind to access it, to collect and store information from it, and to take actions in it for you, as described in these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
You agree that:
- You'll connect only accounts that belong to you, and you have the right to give us access to them.
- You're responsible for making sure your use of Minds with each Connected Account is allowed under that service's terms.
- Connected services aren't affiliated with us. They may change or block how Minds works with them, and they may limit, suspend, or close your account with them. We aren't responsible if they do.
- Disconnecting an account stops new syncing but doesn't delete information already synced. Our Privacy Policy explains how to ask us to delete it.
4. When your Mind acts for you
Depending on the permissions and settings you choose, your Mind can take actions for you ("Actions"), such as:
- sending messages, replies, and reactions from your Connected Accounts
- sending messages automatically when you turn on features like auto-send
- messaging other people and their Minds
- completing tasks on websites you've signed in to, including purchases you approve
You authorize your Mind to take Actions on your behalf. Messages your Mind sends from your accounts appear to come from you, and you're responsible for them as if you'd sent them yourself. Agreements and purchases you approve are binding on you.
We may add safeguards, such as asking you to approve a purchase before it's made, but they won't catch every mistake. Your Mind can misunderstand a request, message the wrong person, or get facts wrong, and some Actions can't be undone. Don't use Actions where acting without careful review would be unlawful or unsafe. Review what your Mind does, and turn off any feature you're not comfortable with.
You're responsible for the Actions your Mind takes within the permissions and settings you choose. To the extent the law allows, we aren't responsible for unintended or mistaken Actions or their consequences.
5. Purchases, payments, and points
Purchases your Mind makes for you. When your Mind buys something for you, you're the buyer and the merchant is the seller. The merchant's terms apply, including its prices, fees, shipping, cancellation, and refund policies, and any problem with the purchase is between you and the merchant. Payments are handled by the merchant and our payment partners, such as Stripe and its Link wallet, under their own terms. You authorize us to share the information needed to complete each purchase, including your payment method, with the merchant and our payment partners. Use only payment methods you're authorized to use.
Paid features. If we offer paid features and you buy one, you agree to pay the price shown, plus any applicable taxes. Purchases made through the App Store are billed by Apple under its terms, and Apple handles their refunds. If a paid feature is a subscription, it renews automatically until you cancel it in your App Store account settings, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We'll tell you before a price change applies to you. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are non-refundable.
Points and rewards. Aura Points and other in-app points, streaks, and rewards have no cash value. You can't sell or transfer them or exchange them for money, and we may change or end them at any time.
6. Your Mind and other people
Minds is social. Your Mind can talk with other people and their Minds, other users' Minds can contact yours, and people you share your Mind with can chat with it. Our Privacy Policy explains how your Mind decides what to share.
- You're responsible for having the right to share information about other people with your Mind.
- We don't control what other users or their Minds say or do, and we aren't responsible for it.
- Anyone who has a link you share to your Mind may be able to chat with it.
7. Your content and AI output
Your content. "Your Content" means what you give Minds and what we receive from your Connected Accounts, such as messages, photos, voice recordings, and instructions. As between you and us, you own Your Content.
You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, process, transmit, display, and adapt Your Content for these purposes:
- to operate, provide, and improve the Service
- to carry out your instructions, including sharing it with the people and Minds you or your Mind communicate with
- as our Privacy Policy describes
This license ends when Your Content is deleted from our systems. That doesn't include copies we keep as our Privacy Policy describes, or content already shared with others.
You're responsible for Your Content. You promise that you have all the rights and permissions needed to provide it and to let us use it as these Terms describe, and that providing it doesn't violate anyone's rights or the law.
AI output. Your Mind uses artificial intelligence to create responses, messages, summaries, memories, and other material ("Output"). As between you and us, you may use Output for any lawful purpose, subject to these Terms. Output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate, and may be similar to what others receive. It isn't professional advice of any kind, including medical, legal, or financial advice. Use your own judgment and check anything important before relying on it.
Minds isn't an emergency service. If you or someone else is in danger, contact local emergency services.
8. Rules for using Minds
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Follow our Community Guidelines and the rules below. We may remove content and suspend or close accounts that break them, and we may report illegal activity to law enforcement. Don't use Minds to:
- break the law or help anyone else break it
- harass, bully, threaten, stalk, defame, or intimidate anyone, or promote hate or violence
- sexualize, exploit, groom, or endanger minors (we report child sexual exploitation to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and to law enforcement)
- send sexual content to anyone who hasn't agreed to receive it
- send spam or unwanted messages, or keep contacting someone who has asked you to stop
- impersonate anyone or misrepresent your connection to anyone, including by creating a voice clone of anyone's voice but your own
- hide that an automated system is involved where the law requires disclosing it, such as to sell something or influence a vote
- share someone's private information without their permission, or connect an account you don't own
- commit fraud or make purchases you aren't authorized to make
- interfere with or overload the Service, get around its limits or safety features, or access it in unauthorized ways
- copy, scrape, reverse engineer, or resell the Service, or use it or its Output to build a competing product or to train other AI models
- upload viruses or other harmful code
If you see content or behavior that breaks these rules or our Community Guidelines, report it to support@authenticintelligence.ai.
9. Text messages
We send text messages, by iMessage or SMS, to verify your phone number, sign you in, reply when you text the Minds number, and tell you about your account and the Service. By giving us your phone number or texting the Minds number, you agree to receive these messages.
- Message frequency varies.
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to stop text messages from us. We may send one message confirming that you've opted out. After you opt out, you may not be able to sign in by text or use your Mind by text.
- Reply HELP for help, or email support@authenticintelligence.ai.
- Carriers aren't liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your phone number and messages. We don't share mobile information with third parties for their marketing.
10. Experimental features
Some features are experimental or offered only to some users. They may change, have bugs, or go away at any time.
11. Our rights
The Service. We and our licensors own the Service, including our software, designs, and brand. Your Content isn't included. Subject to these Terms, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download our apps and use the Service for your own personal use. We reserve all rights not expressly granted.
Feedback. If you send us ideas or feedback, we can use them for any purpose without paying you or owing you anything.
Changes to the Service. We may change, add, or remove features at any time, and we don't promise that any feature will always be available.
Copyright complaints. If you believe something on Minds infringes your copyright, email support@authenticintelligence.ai with a description of the work, where the material appears, and your contact information. We may remove material and close the accounts of repeat infringers.
12. Third-party services
Minds works with services and content from others, including Connected Accounts, AI model providers, payment partners, merchants, and websites. We don't control them and aren't responsible for them, and your use of them may be subject to their own terms. Snapchat, Instagram, WhatsApp, TikTok, iMessage, and other third-party names are trademarks of their owners, who don't sponsor or endorse Minds.
13. Ending your use
You can stop using Minds at any time. To delete your account, email support@authenticintelligence.ai.
We may suspend or end your access to all or part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. That includes if:
- we believe you've broken these Terms
- your use creates risk or legal exposure for us or others
- we stop offering the Service
If we close your account for breaking these Terms, don't create a new one.
Our Privacy Policy explains what happens to your information after your account ends. Sections that by their nature should continue after these Terms end will continue, including Sections 5, 7, and 15 through 21.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date above. If the changes are material, we'll let you know, such as in the app, by text or email, or on our website. Changes take effect when posted unless we say otherwise, and if you keep using Minds after that, you accept the updated Terms. Changes won't apply to a dispute already pending in arbitration or court, and Section 18 explains how you can reject changes to the arbitration agreement.
15. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE, INCLUDING OUTPUT AND ACTIONS, IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, WE AND OUR AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, PARTNERS, AND LICENSORS DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DON'T PROMISE THAT THE SERVICE, OUTPUT, ACTIONS, OR CONNECTED ACCOUNTS WILL BE ACCURATE, RELIABLE, SECURE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT YOUR CONTENT WILL BE STORED OR DELIVERED. YOU USE THE SERVICE AT YOUR OWN RISK.
16. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, WE AND OUR AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, PARTNERS, AND LICENSORS WON'T BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR USE, ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS. THIS INCLUDES DAMAGES FROM ACTIONS YOUR MIND TAKES, PURCHASES, CONNECTED ACCOUNTS, AND THE CONDUCT OF OTHER USERS OR THIRD PARTIES, EVEN IF WE'VE BEEN TOLD SUCH DAMAGES ARE POSSIBLE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WON'T EXCEED THE GREATER OF $100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE.
Some places, including New Jersey, don't allow some of these disclaimers or limits, so they may not fully apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow to be limited.
17. Indemnification
To the extent the law allows, you'll defend, indemnify, and hold harmless us and our affiliates, officers, employees, agents, partners, and licensors from any claims, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from:
- your use of the Service
- Your Content
- Actions your Mind takes for you
- your violation of these Terms or the law
- your violation of anyone's rights
We may take control of the defense of any such claim, and you'll cooperate with us.
18. Dispute resolution and arbitration
PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. IT AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS.
Try to resolve it with us first. Most concerns can be resolved quickly by emailing support@authenticintelligence.ai. Before starting arbitration, you or we must send the other a written notice describing the dispute and the relief requested. Send notices to us at support@authenticintelligence.ai and to Authentic Intelligence Inc., 32 Gansevoort St. Fl 4, New York, NY 10014. We'll send notices to you at the phone number or email address on your account. If the dispute isn't resolved within 60 days after the notice is received, either of us may start arbitration.
Agreement to arbitrate. You and we agree to resolve any dispute or claim arising from or relating to the Service or these Terms through final and binding arbitration on an individual basis, except as described below. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this section. The American Arbitration Association ("AAA") will administer the arbitration under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, as modified by this section.
The arbitrator will decide all issues, including the scope and enforceability of this section, except that a court will decide issues about the class action waiver below. The arbitrator can award the same individual relief a court could. Unless you and we agree otherwise, any hearing will take place in the county where you live, or by phone or video. If your claim is for $10,000 or less, you can choose to have it decided on written submissions alone.
Costs. AAA's rules govern filing, administration, and arbitrator fees. If you show that the costs of arbitration would be prohibitive compared with going to court, we'll pay as much of them as the arbitrator decides is needed to make arbitration affordable for you.
Exceptions. Either of us may bring an individual claim in small claims court if it qualifies. Either of us may go to court to stop the infringement or misuse of intellectual property. Nothing in this section stops you from bringing an issue to a government agency.
No class actions or jury trials. YOU AND WE MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST EACH OTHER ONLY ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS, AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY CLASS, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING. YOU AND WE EACH WAIVE THE RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL. The arbitrator may award relief only to the individual party seeking it, and only as needed for that party's individual claim, except that you may seek public injunctive relief where the law allows. If this class action waiver is found unenforceable for a claim, that claim must be decided in court, not in arbitration.
Opting out. You can opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing support@authenticintelligence.ai within 30 days after you first agree to these Terms. Include your name, the phone number on your account, and a clear statement that you're opting out of arbitration. Opting out doesn't affect the rest of these Terms.
Changes to this section. If we change this section, you can reject the change by emailing us within 30 days after it's posted. If you do, the version of this section you last accepted will continue to apply to you.
Time limit. To the extent the law allows, any claim must be brought within one year after it arises.
Severability. If any part of this section is found unenforceable, the rest of it still applies, except as stated above for the class action waiver.
19. Governing law and courts
New York law governs these Terms, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, except that the Federal Arbitration Act governs Section 18. Any dispute that isn't arbitrated will be decided only in the state or federal courts in New York County, New York, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction.
20. Apple App Store
If you got the Minds app from the Apple App Store, the EULA and this section also apply. If the EULA conflicts with these Terms, these Terms control.
- These Terms and the EULA are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for the app and its content.
- Your license to use the app is limited to Apple-branded devices you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
- If the app fails to meet an applicable warranty, you can notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
- Apple isn't responsible for addressing claims about the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and claims under consumer protection, privacy, or similar laws.
- If someone claims the app infringes their intellectual property, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling, and resolving the claim.
- You confirm that you aren't located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you aren't on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must follow applicable third-party terms, such as your wireless carrier's, when using the app.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and the EULA, and may enforce them against you.
Send questions, complaints, or claims about the app to us using the contact details below.
21. General
- These Terms (including our Community Guidelines), our Privacy Policy, the EULA if it applies to you, and any additional terms we show you for specific features are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.
- If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
- If we don't enforce part of these Terms, we haven't waived our right to enforce it later.
- You can't transfer these Terms without our written consent. We may transfer them, for example as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
- We may send you notices in the app, by text, by email, or on our website.
- We aren't responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
- You must comply with U.S. export control and sanctions laws when using the Service.
- "Including" means "including without limitation." Section titles are for convenience only.
- If you live in California, you can report complaints to the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs. Write to them at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or call (800) 952-5210.
